This level is a HALO Inspired First Person Shooter Multiplayer design. I modeled the buildings, spire turbine, and stairs/platforms with textures and materials in Maya. I wanted to explore and create a blend between realism and science fiction. I explored multiplayer level design and aimed at developing an equal playing field. While both base locations are positioned quite differently, the positioning of the stairs closer to the blue base and the placement of more trees near the red base, coupled with the changes in elevation , light direction, and rock placement were my design choices to achieve this symmetrical playing style. What I have here are two versions, one with the spire above the waterfall, and one without. The pictures without the spire are to show the environment. The ones with the spire are the current up to date versions of this level. The environment was created using multiple landscaping layers to provide realistic texture and definition. The water and rocks with moss were all procedural using Spline.
