PROJECTS
The Life of a Spring
The animation stars Dippy, a spring. An unusual creature in an unusual world. The animation deals with social alienation and the want for an out. Dippy lives in a world where he is constantly reminded of his shortcomings as a spring. He interacts with objects that refuse to listen and mock him when he turns his back. He finds a way out at the end of the tunnel in the form of a lever. This lever has the power to transport him to a new world where he can be free and live like a spring should. He arrives in this new world, seemingly happy... but for how long can he be happy whilst also being along.

Edge of a Virtual World
This animation deals with memory. The story is viewed through the eyes of a beta tester for a memory extraction device. This device scans for memories and recreates them as individual, unique virtual worlds (the monitors in the hallway are the gateways to these worlds). The user arrives in a virtual world that is not a memory, rather a memory of a dream. A dream is not a physical event, it is in itself, virtual. Arriving in an incomplete world with pixels in certain areas, the user is unsure of where he is. The world ends abruptly making the user realize that this was an incomplete memory of a dream he can't remember, and because of this his subconscious filled in the missing gaps with pixels. He realizes that a memory can be exaggerated not just by what you remember, but also by what you choose to remember. Furthermore, he realizes that memories cannot retain their structure (the truth) forever, and will crumble into tiny virtual pixels.

Virtual Mission
This animation deals with how reality's imperfections are being mimicked in virtual settings, yet they are being created to be beneficial to the user. Virtual worlds (like games and simulations) try to emulate realities imperfections, but they create key benefits for the user, like rain masking footsteps, etc. and ultimately making it very easy to choose when to execute certain missions and objectives. This animation utilizes the metaphor of a robotic arm that can very easily switch the weather at the player's choosing. Making a world without weather, or societal imperfections and having them disappear at will is basically creating a plastic world. The main character is about to undertake a stealth simulation on an oil tanker, but the weather is too perfect: bright sun, calm winds, no external noises. The current environment is not suited for stealth sneaking. At his request in the settings panel, he is easily granted an environment that suits him in the simulation.
